SOCIAL AWARENESS PROGRAMME (SAP)

We have an efficient SAP Association which has been established with a rudimentary objective of providing a dais for the interested students to partake in social work during their free time. Our Staff & volunteers visited the government school in the locality to impart knowledge on social awareness and importance of education in their lives on 25th of March 2017. Our volunteers conducted games like Pick and speak for the children to participate. Where, the children actively participated with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement. One of our students performed a dance for the kids, this encouraged them to come forward and exhibit their talents.

X-MAS Celebrations

On 17th of December 2016 Christmas Celebrations were held SB College of Management Studies. The students and Faculties of the MBA, BBA, B.com, BCA Department Participated in the Celebrations, The Celebrations started with a video on Importance and History of Christmas. Principal Madam wished all the members of SB College a Happy and Prosperous Christmas after which a cake was distributed to all. then there were cultural programs by students like, Dancing, Singing.

Essay Writing Competition

An Essay writing competition was held on the topics National Integrity, Moral Values and Fight against corruption etc., in SB College of Management Studies on the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week held from 31st Oct to 5th Nov 2016, in which the Students of MBA Program Participated.

AICTE Seminar

AIDS Awareness Day

A Rally was organized by SB College of Management Studies on December 1st 2016 on the occasion of AIDS Awareness Day. The students of MBA Department participated in the rally with the cutouts of Slogans to bring awareness about AIDS in and around Yalahanka Newtown. Students also interacted with the local public and helped them understand in understanding causes of HIV infection and how to take preventive measures to control HIV infection.

Guest Lecture by Mr Vijay Grover

A Guest Lecture by Mr. Vijay Grover , Journalist & Activist on Social Media; was organized on occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week. Mr. Vijay Grover delivered a Lecture on "Can Civic Society Help Fight Corruption?" to MBA students and faculties on the occasion of VIGILENCE AWARENESS WEEK organized at SB College of Management Studies

Panel Discussion

A Panel Discussion Was conducted on the Topic "Can Civic Society Help Fight Corruption?" in SB College of Management Studies on the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week held from 31st Oct to 5th Nov 2016, in which the Students of MBA Program Participated took active participation.

The students and faculties & staff of MBA Department gathered at colleges and 10:00 AM on 10th Dec 2016. Two College Busses were provided for Pickup and Drop to KSNDMC. We reached at KSNDMC at 10:25 AM and were welcomed by the Staff of the KSNDMC. After the formalities were completed students were taken to the Conference Hall.

The presentation was consisting of two parts; the first part was started by eminent scientist of KSNDMC Shri. Prabhulingappa. He started with what are the different types of Natural disasters occur in India, effects of recent climatic changes. Then He briefed about the KSNDMC organization history and the purpose it was established and also briefed about the invaluable services provided by the KSNDMC to the Government, Corporate and General Public especially the Farming Community.

KSNDMC was started in 1988 to only as a Drought Monitoring Cell and now has grown to unimaginable heights. In first session Prabhu Sir explained about the following

1.Hazard Mapping and Vulnerability studies.
2.Monitoring and Impact analysis
3.IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on climate change
4.Hydrological Disasters
  a.Meteorological Drought
  b.Hydrological Drought
  c.Agricultural Drought
5.Floods and Urban Floods
6.Tlemetric Systems

Then he spoke about the Bengaluru Varuna Mitra Website to get the latest information on the weather conditions, which updates every 15 mins with latest information happening in each hobli and village. This has been madfe possible because of the 6400 + Telemetric devices which have been installed in all the villages and hoblis of Karnataka state. After this a question and answer \ session was held where students clarified their doubts.

Then a break was given and after the break snacks and tea was served to all the students and staff.

In the second session the details about the National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project was discussed. Then causes of Earthquake and Tsunami were explained to the students, and precautions to be taken in case of such natural disasters by general public to minimize the impact on life and property. The session was concluded with a Question Answer session.

After the two sessions students were taken to the telemetric devices installed in the campus and a practical demonstration was carried out to show how the telemetric system works and what different types of data are collected through these devices, such as Temperature, rain fall, wind speed, moisture etc.

After the demonstration and answering the questions by the scientists of KSNDMC a photo session was held.

TKM Visit Report

The students and faculties of SB College of Management Studies MBA Department visited Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited on 19/12/2016, during the 3 hour visit they learnt the Toyota way and TPS (Toyota Production System) through the Plant visit.

Workshop on Financial Literacy for Young Investers

A workshop was organized by SB College of Management Studies on "Financial Literacy Program for Young Investors" by resource person Shri. N Ravindranath Kaushik, Cost and Management Accountant by profession specialized in indirect taxation, cost advising, and project consulting and financial training. Students were enlightened on importance of Savings, Investments and avoidance of risk through following rules of investment.

Workshop on Importence of Counseling

A workshop was organized by SB College of Management Studies on "Importence of Counseling for Students" by resource person Mrs. Nagashree Shashikumar, Counselor and Therapist. A Group activity was conducted to understand the present issues of students. After the workshop Resource person counseled students to solve their issues related to studies and stress management.

Workshop on Managerial Skills

A workshop was organized by SB College of Management Studies on "Managerial Skills" by resource person Prof. Lavanya K, Assistant Profesor, C.B.Bhandari Jain College, Department of Commerce and Management, for students of MBA Department.
